Thank God it’s Friday!

It always amazes me how many people I hear on Fridays saying “thank God it’s Friday” and all the emails I read on Fridays with acronym (TGIF). For the other part of the week days I don’t hear anyone telling me thank God for that day or even much else for other things he’s done not just giving us a Friday.

As we thank God for Friday, we also have a reason to be thankful to him for everything else he has done and share with others His goodness. Below I share with you some Bible verses to remind ourselves to be thankful to God – to be always grateful for the things the Lord has done.

Daniel 2: 20-23

Then Daniel praised the God of heaven -

20 and said: “Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

Psalm 69: 30-36

30 I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
31 This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hooves.
32 The poor will see and be glad— you who seek God, may your hearts live!

33 The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.

34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them,

35 for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it;
36 the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there.

Psalm 136: 1-3

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.
